Simle Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) Meeting Minutes
March 3, 2026

Attendance: Bridget Schapp, Russ Riehl, and Dawn Moen

1.    Meeting called to order

3.    Treasurer’s Report
a.    Ms. Jenkins indicated at the last meeting that the checking account was sitting at $11,396.00.  
4.    School Update 
a.    Mr. Riehl mentioned that the orchestra position has been filled for next year.   

5.    Old Business
a.    Teachers appreciated the great sandwiches, chips, & water provided.
b.    Scholarship Committee members: Josh J, Jane L, Bridget S.  Applications are due to Simle on April 2nd.  PAC members will pick up packets and score applications, then return to Simle by April 13th.  Applicants will be notified by letters sent by Simle.  Winners will so be called.
c.    President’s Education Awards, Wednesday, April 29 at 2:00pm – Scholarships will be presented then.  
d.    8Th Grade Bowling Parting May 13 – volunteers to help organize pizza serving are: April J, Paul M, Drew S, & Jane L.  Volunteers should arrive at 10:45 and should be done by 12:00pm

6.    New Business
a.    Ms. Moen indicated that she reached out to Julie Nelson, Child Nutrition Supervisor for Bismarck Public Schools.  Ms. Nelson was able to find out that Sysco has 4 oz ice cream cups of vanilla strawberry, and chocolate.  There are 48 cups to a case which is approximately $24.68 per case.  Ms. Nelson indicated we would need 22 cases for the 1,023 students.  Ms. Moen made a motion to purchase 24 cases to include students and staff for the last week of school.  Ms. Schapp seconded the motion.  Ms. Moen will coordinate with Ms. Nelson. Ms. Moen will also inquire about non-dairy options.

b.    Mr. Burgard had reached out to Ms. Moen to see if PAC would be interested in purchasing bottled water for the 8th Graders when they are having their pizza.  We figured it would be less $100.00.  Ms. Moen made the motion to purchase the water.  Ms. Schapp seconded the motion.
